Leadership Juniors

Our Junior Program teaches taekwondo and martial arts to boys and girls aged 5 – 12. We help your child be the best that they can be, without being in a competition. Everyone wins with our Junior program!

Who is it for?

  • Boys and girls aged 5 - 12
  • Children who like to do new and exciting things
  • Children who don't like to be afraid and who need to grow up with self confidence
  • Children who deserve more from a sports program than sitting on a bench
  • Children who are athletic, energetic, awkward or shy, bold, nice or maybe even a little wild once in a while

...Probably a lot of children just like yours!

At Leadership Martial Arts, we believe that every child is a winner and that every child is special!

Every student wins with our junior program. Every student can be a winner instead of a bench sitter, because our martial art allows children to reach for their own potential rather than directly competing against others.

Our teaching concept

The junior system is based on a lifetime learning concept in addition to technical skills. Our basic building blocks for the junior system are monthly themes, including the following:

  • Courtesy
  • Respect
  • Confidence
  • Honesty
  • Perseverance
  • Self Discipline
  • Self Awareness
  • Self Esteem

In addition to monthly themes, children are rewarded special "stripes" for their belt. During the period between each graduation all students are subject to a continual assessment. For junior students this is symbolised by a stripe system. As each student successfully completes one of the sections a stripe is awarded. Once all four stripes are collected a student will be allowed to graduate. For adults the same system applies but the stripes are not awarded. A graduation is held every two months.

All of our junior students are taught a mixture of traditional taekwondo and Free Style Martial Arts. This unique mixture maximises the development of Self Control whilst allowing the free flow of creativity to develop Confidence and Physical Fitness.

This is not a competition. This is about your child being the best they can possibly be at this point in their life, regardless of any physical, mental or emotional situations.

I first started Ta kwon do in April time... There was a lady who helped me for a couple of weeks. She showed me the first pattern that I would learn and I found it really hard and difficult to understand what to do but she helped me so much and I really appreciated it.

I am now on my 4th belt which is Green and I am finding it easier each time. We have a laugh and play games sometimes. I am really enjoying it and am really glad I started because they are all so helpful.
